Writing/Publishing CV
Mick Southwick
- Local & family historian
- Freelance writer
- Webmaster/blogger
- Editor & publisher
Editor, writer, and publisher of The North-Easterner Magazine during 1994-2004 + associated works (see below). Occasional publisher of further books and booklets since 2004, almost all self-published – some as e-books. Briefly ran the ‘North-East History Hub’ website and associated e-newsletter during 2010-11; then ran the ‘British & Irish Genealogy’ website/blog, and its spin-off publications. Also maintained the ‘North-East History Tour’ blog at www.northeasthistorytour.blogspot.com during 2010-18, which remains my greatest online effort. Wide experience in the worlds of family & local history and avid follower of news in these fields. Genealogist since the 1980s, with experience as both a researcher and a record agent conducting commissioned work. Have recently turned my attention more specifically to the history of my hometown, Newcastle-upon-Tyne - and have recently (in 2022) began The Newcastle History Blog.
